Perk of unemployment: Watching the groundbreaking at the S Street Dog Park this afternoon! Mayor Fenty was there, and Jack Evans, and all these community leaders. It was really fun to watch and listen – and I only had one fleeting moment of wanting to throw my resume as a paper airplane into the mix and see what happened!
I took some pictures, and got the piece of info I’ve been longing to discover — the park is scheduled to open on Memorial Day. I don’t doubt that it might be delayed, but either way I am totally bringing Artie to the ribbon cutting!

I’m so excited for this too! It has been an unofficial park for years, but I don’t trust our mutt enough off the leash with no fence. We usually go to the one at 11th and Qish which is pretty good!
