Looking for Blue Skies

5 Jan

OK, so clearly my attempts to be happy about being back to work have failed. I was planning to change my header back to the lovely baking cakes that used to be there, but then I stumbled past this picture of beer again. And it fit my mood better!

In an attempt to remain lighthearted, I thought I’d share some delightful Christmas gifts that I gave and received this year! Maybe they’ll bring about some good ideas next year.

Cowgirl Creamery cheese basket

Whole Foods gift card

CD of the slideshow my mom and mom-in-law put together for my our wedding

A cake stand!!!

A fabulous assortment of new books that I can’t wait to jump into. They are also reminding me how much I want to start a new book club.

Lastly, my family gave more gifts from local artists than any previous year. At Eastern Market (a DC farmers market and fair), my mom and I got each other beautiful necklaces, MJD and I got my sister vintage looking mirrors for her apartment, and MJD got me photos of from around DC (union station, the capital, the metro).

And on Etsy, I bought MJD (who is from Cincinnati) a poster from visualingual.

And, of course, time with friends and family! There’s nothing better than that!

Ahh, now I feel better!
